This policy explains which personal data we process when you use GuessTheAnime and which rights you have. The German version is legally binding.
2. Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Inhaber René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. When you visit, the server automatically stores technical data: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and operating system. This is necessary to run the site securely and reliably (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Logs are deleted after 7 days. We have a data processing agreement with the host.
3. Playing without an account
So that your progress is kept without an account, we set a random identifier (cookie “gta3_client”) and store your guesses with it. It does not reveal who you are. If the identifier hasn’t been active for 2 years, we remove it automatically – the guesses are then only kept anonymously for puzzle statistics. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing the game (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
4. User account
If you create an account, we store your username, email address, an encrypted password (hash only), your game progress, streaks, coins, badges and friendships. Username, level and results are visible to other players on the leaderboard and in friend lists. Legal basis: performance of the user agreement (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
You can delete your account yourself at any time under Profile → Account & security. Your account data, friendships, coins and badges are deleted. Your guesses are separated from you and only kept anonymously for puzzle statistics (e.g. “solved by X players”) – they can no longer be traced back to you.
5. Emails
We only use your email address for messages about your account: confirming the address, resetting your password, account changes. We don’t send newsletters. Emails are sent via the mail servers of our host ALL-INKL.COM.
6. Sign in with Google
If you use “Continue with Google”, you are redirected to Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google then sends us an identifier of your Google account, your email address and your name. We only use these for signing in. See Google’s privacy policy. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
7. Donations and support (Stripe)
Payments are handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland). For payments via “Managed Payments”, Stripe acts as the seller and is independently responsible for the payment data. You enter payment details such as card numbers directly with Stripe – we never see them. We only store whether and until when you are a supporter, plus the amount and date of your support. 8. Advertising (Google AdSense)
For visitors without supporter status we show ads via Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited). Google may use cookies and similar technologies and process data such as IP address and device information – including in the USA. We only show personalised ads if you agreed in our cookie banner (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the Cookies link in the footer. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More at How Google uses data.

10. Fonts
The “Outfit” font is hosted on our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or other font providers is made.
11. Storage period
We keep account data as long as your account exists. Progress without an account is anonymised after 2 years of inactivity, progress of deleted accounts immediately. Payment records are kept as long as statutory retention obligations require.
12. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Just write to info@guesstheanime.net.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
